TOSCANELLO® Aroma Vaniglia with Chinotto

An alcoholic beverage is not always necessary to accompany a good TOSCANELLO®.
In addition to coffee and tea there is a pairing that could not be more Italian in essence: the one between TOSCANELLO® Giallo a Vaniglia and Chinotto di Lurisia. Lurisia, a Slow Food presidium, produces the real Chinotto: the Chinotto di Savona. It comes in a glass bottle bearing a simple label with the graphic appeal of the 1950s.

At first sight it reveals a subtle but lasting effervescence, to the nose it has a broad and intriguing scent that immediately recalls not only citrus, but also rhubarb notes. In the mouth it is soft but enveloping, clean with a chinotto aftertaste even though it is very sweet: only at the end does the citrus taste consistently linger. But let’s taste it with our TOSCANELLO®.
The TOSCANELLO® Giallo has a broad, pleasantly sweet and warm fragrance. Upon lighting up, the aroma of Vanilla is not immediately evident in the mouth (while the room note is very evident); the Kentucky tobacco has only “softened”, almost as though it had spent time in a barrique, giving pleasant splashes of sweetness to the smoke.
But here comes the chinotto, with the cigar enhancing its pleasantly sour and bitter undertone, cleaning the tongue with its effervescence and bringing the palate to a state of satisfying stasis.

The development of tastes can last for a long time and smoking a single TOSCANELLO® we can enjoy several more glasses of the citrus drink without having to worry about our driving licence.
