What can we say about this combination if not that it is aimed at those who love the sharp taste of fresh lemon? The pairing presented here is deliberately focused on sweet and sharp tastes. If we were to establish a pairing in terms of similarity, this would perhaps be the clearest example, in all its aspects. Regarding this TOSCANELLO® we can say that it is sweet, with acidic notes and scents of alcohol, and exactly the same may be said of the liqueur produced by Donna Frida: the same basic characteristics.
This union is reserved for those who want to try their hand at the “apotheosis of limoncello”. Limoncello on the nose, limoncello on the fingers, limoncello on the tongue and, obviously, limoncello in the mind.
Of course, there is no one to prevent someone enjoying a TOSCANELLO® by the Manifatture Sigaro Toscano house wishing to counteract the acid and sweet notes with something bitter and/or savoury, but if we want to bomb our mind with a satiety of lemon, freshness and sweetness, there is nothing more extreme than this combination. Because already on the nose, the TOSCANELLO® Costiera al Limoncello cigar releases potent refreshing notes of citrus. On the nose more than on the palate, as for all the aromatised Toscanello cigars, and this is why here we reinforce it with the same product, but in liquid form.
On other occasions we have explored different “apotheoses” of a basic taste. The bitter, generally starring the Antico TOSCANO® cigar or the sweet with the TOSCANO® Soldati cigar, but never before have we been able to explore the fourth and perhaps the most difficult (and among the least loved) tastes: acid.
Of course, in both products the sweet notes make everything easier, but certainly it was unlikely we would be able to test it so far. Now you can.
